Striving to exceed Australian and Global Certification Standards
  • ISO9001

    ISO9001 - Quality Management Systems

The ISO 9001 Certification sets out the criteria for a quality management system and is the only standard in the family that can be certified to (although this is not a requirement). It can be used by any organization, large or small, regardless of its field of activity. In fact, there are over one million companies and organizations in over 170 countries certified to ISO 9001.

This standard is based on a number of quality management principles including a strong customer focus, the motivation and implication of top management, the process approach and continual improvement. These principles are explained in more detail in ISO’s quality management principles. Using ISO 9001 helps ensure that customers get consistent, good-quality products and services, which in turn brings many business benefits.

AS/NZS 4801 - Occupational Health and Safety Management Systems

Though ISO 45001 is set to replace OHSAS 18001 as the international standard for Safety Management Systems by early 2021, there are jurisdictions with requirements which continue to mandate certification to AS/NZS 4801. This means that certification for AS/NZS 4801 will continue to be supported until this legislation is revoked.

Multiple jurisdictions in Australia maintain AS/NZS 4801 as a legislated requirement for tenders in certain sectors. Once legislation in these states and territories is revoked or amended, Standards Australia will have the ability to revoke support for AS/NZS 4801. Until this happens, AS/NZS 4801 will remain in force, but only for those organisations where a legislative or contractual requirement exists. Taking this into consideration, unless your organisation has contractual or legislative requirements to hold AS/NZS 4801 certification, it is recommended that you migrate to ISO 45001 now.

ISO45001 - Occupational Health and Safety

For organizations that are serious about improving employee safety, reducing workplace risks and creating better, safer working conditions, there’s ISO 45001.

According to the International Labour Organization, more than 7 600 people die from work-related accidents or diseases every single day. That’s why an ISO committee of occupational health & safety experts set to work to develop an International Standard with the potential to save almost three million lives each year. Structured in a similar way to other ISO management systems, the approach will be familiar to users of standards such as ISO 14001 or ISO 9001. The ISO 45001 Certifications builds on the success of earlier international standards in this area such as OHSAS 18001, the International Labour Organization’s ILO-OSH Guidelines, various national standards and the ILO’s international labour standards and conventions.
